ITINERARY : -

Day 01 LECCO : All flights leads to Milan. Mialn - Lecco.

Today you embark on your tour when you board your flight to Milan. On arrival take a train to Lecco. At the foothills of the Bergamo Alps, Lecco is a lively town on the eastern branch of Lake Como. You won't find the swathes of high-end bars and yachts of some of the lake's more popular towns, but you'll enjoy a laid-back and down-to-earth experience of Como with equally spectacular scenery (including the Mount Grigna and Mount Resegone peaks) and neighbourhood restaurants that don't break the bank. Overnight at Lecco.

Day 02 LECCO : Explore Lecco & surroundings.

The Erna Piani is a mountain resort accessed by cable car (the base of which can be reached by bus number 5 from Lecco). There's a stunning viewpoint at the peak and hiking trails – in winter there's sledding and snoeshoeing. Lecco is on the eastern branch of Lake Como and the area's beaches are a welcome escape from Lake Como's busier shores. There are public beaches close to town: Orsa Maggiore is the closest (next to the road, fairly busy with a beach bar and wakeboarding), others can be reached by train. This lakeside town has a rich history and you should seek out the Basilica of Saint Nicholas, Visconti Bridge and the Bell tower of Basilica San Nicolò. (Italy's second highest). Stop in the principal square, Piazza XX Settembre, for a bite to eat or coffee. Overnight at Lecco.

Day 03 LUCERNE : Lecco - Tirano - Chur - Lucerne.

Enjoy breathtaking, panoramic views as you make your way along the Rhaetian Railway to Switzerland. This UNESCO World Heritage-listed line passes across 196 bridges and through 55 tunnels as it snakes its way over the Bernina Pass, 2253 metres above sea level. This is one of the most spectacular railway journeys on Earth, so be sure to have your camera at the ready! Overnight at Lucerne.

Day 04 LUCERNE : Explore Switzerland’s mighty Mt Titlis. Visit Mount Pilatus.

On a clear day, you can see 73 alpine peaks from the summit of Mount Pilatus! Visit the 'Dragon Mountain' on the Golden Round Tour, which is covered in your Trip. Cruise to Alpnachstad, then it's a spectacular ride on the world's steepest cog railway to Pilatus Kulm. On the way down, take the cable car with panoramic views to Kriens and a bus trip home. An alternative is the brand new cable car from Fräkmüntegg to Pilatus and there is also fantastic summer toboggan run and plenty of walking trails.

Explore Switzerland’s mighty Mt Titlis in style from Lucerne. Enjoy the 1-hour train ride from Lucerne to Engelberg and admire panoramic views over Switzerland’s beautiful countryside. Next, you will head to the cable cart station, and begin the ascent to the top of Mount Titlis. As your cart climbs closer to the summit, you will be treated to stunning views over the Alps, with mountains, valleys, and crystalline lakes stretching as far as the eye can see. Cable car & Ice Flyer Tickets are Included. When you reach the top you will have the chance to explore the Glacier Cave, with its centuries-old ice tunnels and fresh glacial air, and the Titlis Cliff Walk, which offers 360-degree views and an exhilarating route across a suspension bridge.

Day 05 LUCERNE : Visit Interlaken & Meiringen.

Board the carriages of the Luzern-Interlaken Express(Golden Pass Train) with their huge panoramic windows and enjoy the scenic countryside en route to Interlaken. You'll cross the stunning Brünig Pass at 1,003m and experience the landscapes of the Hasliberg region. You could follow the track along the shore of Lake Brienz into Interlaken for lunch and Sightseeings or change trains to visit pretty Meiringen. Meiringen has a very interesting geographical position. Situated just along the Hasli Valley from Brienz, Meiringen sits on a sunny plateau between several mountain passes: the Brünig Pass which leads to Lucerne, the Susten Pass towards Wassen and the Grimsel Pass to Gletsch. There is so much to explore, with the variety of natural wonders characterised by water: ancient glaciers, glistening lakes, roaring waterfalls and bubbling streams. Meiringen offers a large range of hiking trails to suit all levels, with wonderful views of the Engelhorn, Wetterhorn, Eiger and Mönch mountains. You could start from the village or take the Hasliberg cable car to the Alpen Tower which has spectacular views and serves as the departure point for many hikes. Overnight at Lucerne.

Day 06 ZERMATT : 'Glacier Express' from Chur to Zermatt.

Snake through viaducts, loops and tunnels on the Glacier Express, the slowest express train journey in the world — and one of the most scenic. After travelling across the 2044 meter-high Oberalp Pass, you'll weave through glacial canyons and valleys before pulling into Zermatt.

Day 07 GENOA : Visit Alpine Resort of Zermatt.

Visit the alpine village of Zermatt with it's typical chalet style, surrounded by high alpine peaks, the Matterhorn in face all the time. Discover the old part of Zermatt and viewpoint, from where you will have all this "postcard" views to the Matterhorn. You can Cross stunning bridges, ride through galleries and tunnels, idyllic forests, past gorges and mountain lakes as your climb the Gornergrat on the cogwheel train with the Matterhorn continually in view. At the summit, explore the picturesque alpine world of the Swiss Alps. After lunch we shall proceed towards Genoa. Check-in to your hotel after Indian dinner.

Day 08 MILAN : Visit Portofino with Genoa city Tour.

Genoa, the largest medieval town in Europe, maintains the charm of the ancient maritime republic. Your day will start in the ancient harbor, renovated in 1992 by the architect Renzo Piano. Here, your friendly and professional tour leader will lead you through the labyrinth of narrow alleyways of the old town to discover the many attractions of this city. After free time continue for a scenic ride following the Tigullio Gulf, nicknamed the Dolphins Gulf due to the large school of dolphins that are often spotted there, to reach the colorful village of Santa Margherita Ligure. Here, take the boat(own expense) for a mini-cruise to the charming fishing village of Portofino, a half-moon shaped seaside village whose beauty has been narrated across the millennia by writers and poets such as Guy de Maupassant. The journey will end with a return by boat. As Potofino is car free zone so you can also cover by public transport or by foot. Portofino is just 05Km away from Santa Margherita. Later proceed towards Milan for overnight stay. (own accommodation)
